DO WE HAVE TO HAVE A WEDDING REHEARSAL?

The short answer is YES!  Without a rehearsal you run the risk of a very disorganized wedding ceremony.

I offer rehearsal coordination as part of all my services and even though there is no rule that says you MUST have a wedding rehearsal, it is very important. Lately it feels as if most of my evenings are filled with wedding prep and running from one rehearsal to another and I love every moment of it.  I love meeting the family and friends who are so excited to celebrate with the bride and groom and helping people feel comfortable and confident before they walk down the aisle so they can truly enjoy the ceremony!

The ONE exception (and even in these situations I still like to run a rehearsal), is if your wedding is small, with few or no wedding attendants, and does not include any wedding traditions, customs, or special readings.  However, most of my weddings are more formal and larger in scope and many include children so it is well worth setting aside about 30 to 45 minutes the day before the wedding to go over the ceremony with everyone. Together, we will review each aspect of the ceremony, from the processional to the recessional. For the processional to run smoothly, everyone involved needs to know the walking order, their musical cues, and where to sit or stand. We will also review small but important details such as what the groomsmen should do with their hands during the ceremony as well as the height at which the bride and bridesmaids should carry their bouquets in order to look good in photos. All of these details are very important to ensure a flawless ceremony on the wedding day!
