Marlee & Mitch’s Elegant Spring Wedding

The 2023 wedding season is coming to an end and we’ve been involved in some fabulous celebrations. We kicked off our season with a spectacular spring wedding for Marlee and Mitch at The Gates on Roblin in the Grand Ballroom. We wanted to highlight Marlee and Mitch’s celebration featuring lots of florals and a gorgeous palette of muted whites and greys, along with pops of blush, mauve and gold elements. Read all about their romantic, spring inspired wedding, here.

Marlee had beautiful blush satin Pajamas and slippers for each Bridesmaid to wear during hair and make up services. To ease the anticipation, they enjoyed breakfast and champagne before Marlee and the Bridesmaid’s departed to The Leaf for the first look.

Marlee and Mitch shared an intimate first look at The Leaf, surrounded by luscious greenery and rays of natural light pouring in above them. The couple exchanged vows privately before the wedding party joined them for portraits.

The Grand Ballroom at The Gates was the perfect venue for Marlee and Mitch’s wedding and it has numerous surrounding windows illuminating the room for an airy spring feel. The space was tremendously elevated with ivory draping throughout and twinkle lights intertwined with the ceiling drapes from Planned Perfectly, it was truly breathtaking!!!

During the ceremony Marlee and Mitch got married under a stunning gold Chuppah from Creating a Scene. Above were draped ivory linens and vertical floral clusters attached to the Chuppah poles by Floral Fixx featuring quicksand roses, white roses, ivory spray roses, white hydrangeas, and a touch of greenery. They walked down a gorgeous champagne aisle runner from Planned Perfectly and at the end of the aisle stood a tall 4-tiered gold shelf. The gold shelf featured 18 assorted 6” and 7.5” glass cylinders with floating candles and greenery climbing up both sides.

In our set up plans we always try to maximize the use of our decor elements and repurpose them where we can. In this case we repurposed the gold shelf not once but three times! After the ceremony, the AME team and wonderful staff at The Gates flipped the ceremony space immediately so it was ready for the reception to follow. We moved all the guest tables that were hiding behind the ivory draping and added in a few cruiser tables for cocktail hour where guests enjoyed served appetizers and drinks! We pushed the glass cylinders to the back of the gold shelf and repurposed the welcome sign. Accompanying the welcome sign and glass cylinders were 13 gorgeous gold frames with pressed flowers each with a table number and guest names for their seating chart. The repurposed glass cylinders really added a WOW factor to the seating arrangement, lighting up the back of the room. We also repurposed three Bridesmaid’s bouquets for the bottom of the shelf to tie in some more florals. Later in the evening the shelf endured its final flip where we then created a spectacular mini dessert station. On the shelf we had custom M&M napkins, gold cake stands, and gold platters presenting a vast variety of delicious mini desserts from De Luca’s and cakes and tortes from Chocolate Zen.

Marlee and Mitch’s guests were seated around round tables with ivory belize linens and gold chiavary chairs repurposed from the ceremony. Half of the guest tables featured tall open framed gold geo stands with quicksand rose, white rose, ivory spray rose, white ranunculus, and greenery resting on top. Under the base of the geo stands were 3 gold stemmed cylinders with floating candles. The remaining guest tables featured open gold geo pedestals with quicksand rose, white rose, ivory spray rose, white ranunculus, and greenery accompanied by a trio of gold thumb print votives. To finish off the tables each place setting had gold cutlery and grey pocket fold napkins from Planned Perfectly. In each napkin we’re tucked in personalized menus with each guest's name to double as a seating card. We also can’t forget the adorable custom M&M Favour Boxes for each guest representing Marlee and Mitch!

The head table was positioned in two tiers, one placed on the risers where the ceremony took place and one table just below. The tables were lined with ivory belize linens with an elegant printed grey overlay. We had multiple gold stemmed votive duos with floating candles and the bridesmaid’s bouquets repurposed into vases. Beside the head table stood a custom white and gold basketball kissing game that represented Mitch’s love for basketball. It read “If you want them to kiss, do not miss!”. This added a fun element for the guests during the dinner service, and it was a hit!

Instead of a traditional guest book Marlee and Mitch decided to take a chance for a more personalized keepsake. Something Borrowed provided their audio guest book so their loved ones could record personalized voice messages – such a unique keepsake. This gives the guests a chance to say hello, congratulate them, give words of wisdom, and leave some advice for the newlyweds! Your loved ones may not be with you forever so this is a great way to capture some voices you can listen to in the years to come. Truly a precious moment Marlee and Mitch can cherish together!

Following the speeches the couple enjoyed their first dance and the photo booth opened for guests where they could take silly photos with family and friends. Photo booths are a great way to allow your guests to get creative and create lasting memories, thanks to Pix Sis. Guests then joined Marlee and Mitch on the dance floor to celebrate the newlyweds for a night filled with love, laughter, and fun! Mazel Tov, Marlee and Mitch!
