CARLEIGH + WILL

CARLEIGH + WILL

Carleigh and Will celebrated their wedding on a beautiful fall afternoon surrounded by close family and friends .  Carleigh wanted deep, rich fall colours in her bouquet and lots of sparkle and we were so excited to make her vision come to life.  We had gold table runners with imperfect arrangements placed carefully on her tables, each of different heights and shapes.  The reception took place underneath Pineridge Hollow’s big white tent and we added lots of antique candles and string lighting with plush lounge furniture scattered throughout the tent for the cocktail reception.  Even her bridesmaids and adorable flower girl stunned in their matching gold gowns.  What really impressed me is that Carleigh and Will remained so grounded throughout their wedding day, always pausing to take some moments for themselves, share a quick prayer together or simply stop and enjoy the moment.  After a deeply personal ceremony with a special prayer recited by the bride’s father, guests dined on antipasto platters, food stations and a candy bar before the couple’s first dance and sparkler sendoff, followed by a surprise fireworks show to close out a perfect day. The wedding was magic and so romantic and I couldn’t be more happy to be involved!

LAURA + MATT

LAURA + MATT

Laura and Matt.  Have you ever wondered what an Etsy-DIY-Supreme-Dream wedding would look like? It looks like this.   The details with this wedding were far beyond anything I had done before and day after day as the décor plan grew with detail between phone calls, emails and in person meetings, my excitement continued to build.  The space at York Mills Gallery was absolutely transformed as we brought Laura and Matt's vision to life.  Their wedding theme was fresh, organic and rustic with neutral colours including peaches, creams, blushes and lots of real fruit, (sidebar: I have enjoyed a renewed interest in consuming apricots since this wedding).  Throughout the lobby copper planters were carefully placed in assorted heights, copper frames hung individual seating tags tied with delicate blush ribbon and an old desk exploded with blooms and greenery .  Thirty of their closest, (yup, 30 including a handful of the cutest lil' ones), marched down the candlelit aisle to celebrate Laura and Matt while guests took in the birchwood chuppah covered in greens and read fun facts about the couple in their wedding program. While my team re-set the space for dinner, guests enjoyed signature cocktails like the mojito and gin and tonic (with a splash of grapefruit juice) and were invited to share advice and memories for the couple and colour on a 15 foot tall canvas colouring wall.  When it was time to open the draping for the room reveal, the room was ah-mazing, really better than we could have dreamed.  The table scape, designed by the very talented Jordana Massi of White Oak Floral Co. was a clean, but eclectic mix of arrangements and décor. Using tin, foliage and fruit as the main inspiration, the tables included clear glass candle holders, cloches and bud vases, potted plants (like succulents and ferns), flowers in tin planters, fruit and loose foliage scattered down the length of the tables. Laura was so detailed she even had an individual seating card for everyone based on their nickname, not an easy task with 275 guests!  Instead of a typical plated dessert, at the end of the meal, they opted for a  sweet table featuring cakes and desserts baked with love by close members of both families.  The best was getting such a big hug at the end of the night from this beautiful couple.  I’m so thrilled to have been involved with this beautiful day, this was one for the books!

MICHELLE + MICHAEL

MICHELLE + MICHAEL

Michelle and Michael (M&M) are such a fantastic, down to earth couple.  I think from the beginning, we just ‘got’ each other – I recognized, (and appreciated) how organized Michelle was.  She had all her hydrangeas in a row and needed someone just as organized to run the show; a perfect fit for my Homestretch service!  Our meetings at Aroma were always a mix of details and lots of laughs when we started planning and I could barely contain my excitement as their wedding day drew closer.  True to their simplicity and elegant style, their wedding was white on white on white with tall gold candelabras and personalized M&M’s; how could you go wrong? Michael and his guys opted for gorgeous floral pins on their jackets instead of traditional boutonnieres while Michelle’s ladies exuded elegance in their LBD’s (read “long” black dresses) and sparkling jewels. And the couple?  I think the pictures speak for themselves! The staff at the Liberty Grand didn’t disappoint either, with sky high lighting, white draping and fabulous hospitality and service!  After a rousing hora featuring that notorious 'hora tarp', guests dined on a three course dinner before the band took over for a party complemented by tons of late night eats including gourmet donuts (I may have snuck a peanut butter one), an ice cream cart and mini hot dogs and fries.  Mazel Tov!

ANNA + AVI

ANNA + AVI

When Anna and Avi approached me about planning and styling their wedding, I was super excited because it was THE WEDDING I was hoping to plan – small, intimate and oh so romantic.  Adding to my  fuzzy feelings was the incredible love this couple has for one another.  Anna and Avi met through a work assignment, became fast friends, then best friends and started dating much later.  This kind of deep rooted friendship helped create such a solid foundation for their relationship and helped create such a warm atmosphere on their wedding day.  A + A’s wedding took place on a crisp fall day in historic Liberty Village.  Surrounded by brick, train tracks and their closest family and friends, they were married under a tent and toasted each other with sparkling wine before walking back down the aisle as husband and wife.  Their  guests then dined on some seriously amazing Italian food before dancing the night away under a tree, sparkling lights and a beautiful (heated) tent.  My favorite part is that we incorporated the dusty blue and rose tones defined by pantone as the ‘colours of the year’ in their stationary and florals.  To complement those colours, we accented the sweet table with gold, glass and white vases and pedestals for the sweet table featuring Turtle tarts, earl grey cake and something incredible called ‘The Chocolate One’ and I couldn’t be more ecstatic to see it all come to life.  Cheers to a sweet life together, friends!
