Why We Love Winter Weddings

The cozy atmosphere and romantic lighting always inspires us as we plan and design for our winter wedding clients. Here’s a list of some of the benefits of hosting a winter wedding:

Better Guest and Venue Availability

In the winter, the calendar is much less busy for venues and your guests. Since most weddings take place in spring and summer, you will have a better chance of booking your favourite venue and vendors! You will also have a greater chance of securing a more complete guest list, with a reduced risk of your guests attending other weddings or other events.

Discounts

Not all vendors will offer discounts, but chances are, your wedding will be more affordable in the winter. There is a chance you may not be subject to typical minimums with some vendors when booking in the off season and you might benefit from a reduction on services or products, given the slower season.  With all the savings, you can re-allocate those funds towards the honeymoon of your dreams!

Special Attention

The slower season means you are more likely to receive greater care and attention from your vendors. Who wouldn’t want more availability for meetings, quicker response times and a team that is refreshed and ready to make your wedding dreams come true? Winter couples also benefit from quicker editing times and deliverables for photo and video. You can relive your wedding day that much sooner, without waiting months after the big day for all those digital assets.

Candlelight and Décor

Winter weddings lend themselves to a more festive and cozy atmosphere. The colors are warm and rich it gives you more opportunities to incorporate the holiday season into your wedding decorations. Think lots of romantic candle light, faux snowflakes, and warm golden harvest decorations. Your wedding will have a unique and distinct theme, creating a memorable experience for your guests.

Embrace the Winter Weather

Despite the cold, winter weather is actually more reliable. We plan the day knowing portraits will be inside and we don’t have to worry about humidity or whether or not heat will require ongoing makeup and hair touch ups. It's difficult to fully trust the weather forecast for much of the year, however, for a winter wedding, there is no rainfall to worry about. If you're fortunate, you might even get a beautiful snowfall, which adds an extra touch of fun and romance to your special day!

Comfort Food and Drinks

Everyone loves indulging in some comforting holiday food and you can customize your bar with some winter themed beverages like hot chocolate, hot apple cider or mulled wine.  Additionally, people often appreciate food even more in colder weather and the dishes you serve will taste especially delicious during those chilly days.
